After a fire incident, the responses and resources in a local community can be marshaled to restore the physical safety of the home as well as the relationships that are often damaged. Even when safety concerns require a child be temporarily removed from home, presentations at this conference will demonstrate approaches to reunify them as soon as possible. The 7th annual Northeast Youth Firesetting Conference focuses on tactics to maintain, or return as soon as possible, youth who have engaged in firesetting to their homes and communities-where they belong.

About the Conference


"When the Smoke Clears: Preserving Connections & Restoring Safety”


In line with efforts around the country to serve kids within their communities and to extend interventions to the whole family, this year’s workshops will provide responders from fire service, mental health, social service, law enforcement, and schools with valuable resources and proven strategies for preserving connections and restoring safety. This conference provides opportunities for individuals and agencies to conceptualize how to build bridges to better collaborate with one another and to better serve families after firesetting incident.
